When I started this site in 2003, it was a place for me to share with friends and family some fun photos of places, creatures and other people who have been a big part of my life.

It always took me a while to update the galleries after the photos were taken. I used to justify it by explaining that the real images were still fresh in my head and that the pictures would "mature" and be more meaningful with time.

While the content on the site hasn't changed much (I'm still slow about that), my subject matters have. Some of the people have moved on and away, a couple of the pets have passed and my hobbies seem to have taken a backseat to other things.

When I look at the pictures now, I see them in a different way. Ironically, to me they have matured into more than a still version of my surroundings. They are personal memories of some great times. And eventually that's what pictures become. So if you're tired of looking at the same stuff, well, I'll work on making some new memories and sharing them at some point. You know, when they "mature."
