Paddling south from the VanBuren State Park entrance
takes you to the glowing, warm waters near the Palisades Nuclear Plant.
You can feel the heat coming from below and around your hull. The white
smoke generates a blinding glow too.
But it's all good for you and the
environment. In fact, kids, according to Consumers Energy, the nice
folks in charge of the nice plant, monthly tests are conducted to check for radioactivity in the water, fish, crops and milk supplies around the area.
See? No need to worry about 3-eyed frogs or square babies.
