Paddling south from the VanBuren State Park entrance takes you to the glowing, warm waters near the Palisades Nuclear Plant. You can feel the heat coming from below and around your hull. The white smoke generates a blinding glow too.
But it's all good for you and the environment. In fact, kids, according to Consumers Energy, the nice folks in charge of the nice plant, monthly tests are conducted to check for radioactivity in the water, fish, crops and milk supplies around the area.
See? No need to worry about 3-eyed frogs or square babies.
